Pedal Cups

High-level Design Goals

· Mounting - Simple secure mounting onto the pedals

· Weight reduction - Optimize for weight while maintaining structural strength.

· Function - Enlarges the foot actuation area of the pedal and reduces foot drift during cornering.

3D Printed Pedal Cup

Utilized 3D printing with continuous carbon fiber to allow for easy manufacturing of design features for mounting. This manufacturing method also allowed weight reduction while maintaining strength and stiffness

Test Fit

Test fitting the pedal cups onto the pedals for testing

Carbon Fiber Layup Pedal Cup

Carbon fiber pedal cups manufactured using a wet layup. These pedal cups ended up being too thin and hard to mount therefore the 3d printed continuous fiber pedal cups were used instead
